Going to Miami.....

We spent the holidays in Miami and Key West this past week and had a GREAT time while we where there.

South Beach:

We spent the day on the beach in South Miami. I was so excited to be able to swim in a warm ocean again.

Hollywood, FL:

Did you know that Florida also has it's own Hollywood? I didn't, but we went out one night to Hollywood and had a blast. It is a small little town and everything seem to be located between a 3-4 block area. We spent the evening in a small local bar called O'Hara. They had a live band and great drinks.

Hard Rock Casino:

Hard Rock has a Casino in Miami. It is located near Hollywood, FL. It reminded me a lot of Downtown Disney. They have the hotel with casino, which had mostly slot machines. Then on the outside they had a little mall area that had bars, clubs, shops, restaurants, etc...It was a fun place to and check out and the hotel was amazing, but it is a very young crowd.

Key West

This past week we headed to the southern most point in the continental United States (Since this little stop in Hilo is actually the southern most point in the United States) and had a great time on holiday.

Key West:

We drove the 150 miles from Miami to Key West. The weather was nice and the view was amazing. The water on the way down there was so clear, it reminded me of Hawaii. We saw several little places we would of liked to stop and hang out, but there was a sign that said, "Crocodile Crossing", so I decided...Nope!

Once we arrived in Key West we checked into our hotel room at the Hyatt Key West Resort....WOW. The room was amazing. I headed across the street to The Key West Winery. Now, if you are into wines, you have got to check out there site and order the Category Five....It is so good!! I also tried the Mango flavor and bought that, so as you see everything is great there! The guys who own the store...GREAT!!

At night...Duval Street is the place to be!! Bars, food, shops, etc...It was a fun night!

J-O-B

It finally happened....I got a job!! I will be working here at Point Mugu for the Department of Navy. I am not 100% sure what I will be doing, but that is okay. The good news is that I will start at the end of Dec or early Jan.

This great news was a reason to celebrate!! Ron, Sam, Stacy and I head south to the Merriest Place on Earth...Disneyland. It was all decorated for the holidays, so it was really the Merriest Place on Earth. We made dinner reservations at Ariel's Grotto in California Adventure. Overall, it was a great celebration!

New Living Room

As many of you already know, the movers broke a lot of our household items. We have started to replace the items. The first thing we decided to purchase was a living room set. The Navy policy is that you have to keep all broken items until the claim in settled. So...we put it in the back yard and the girl have already started taking full advantage of the oppportunity.

Halloween Night

This year we did a grave yard theme in the entrance to our house. On Halloween night Ron dressed up and scared the BIG kids when they walked up. Most of them screamed and then would walk away telling their friends, "I was not scared..." LOL...it was a fun night and all the kids looked really great in there Halloween outfits!

Texas State Fair

Mom and Randy took me to the State Fair of Texas while I was in town. We walked around and sampled some of the great fried food they had; fried coke, fried cheesecake, etc... The fried coke is NASTY.

Randy and I also started talking about how small Big Tex looked. We remember him being much bigger as kids...LOL.

Oxnard Airport

Had to walk on the runway to board plane!

So...I went home to DFW for a week. After driving to and from LAX a couple of times, I decided to give the little airport by my house a try..OMG. It was so fast and easy to get in and out. You have to arrive only 30 minutes prior to flight and it takes 17 minutes to get to LAX....Hello, that is faster than driving to LAX!!! Here are a couple of pics of the one terminal airport that only United comes in and out of!!

The one terminal!! Holds 30 people.

The one baggage claim!

Mickey's Halloween Party

This month Mickey held his 2nd Annual Halloween Treat party at California Adventure. I joined my friend Elsa's family and headed over there for the party!! Adults and kids were encouraged to dress up for the party, so I decided to make my own costume this year!! I made the poodle skirt.

The party was pretty cool...Disney closed down the park and then decorated for the event. You had to purchase a special tickets weeks in advance and that is what you used to get into park. Only about 7,000 tickets are sold, so the rides are super easy to get into. Overall all, I would recommend this party!!

Disney HalloweenTime

It is my favorite time of year, Halloween. This year Disneyland had their 1st HalloweenTime. It was so much fun. They turned both parks into a Halloween adventure. I have to say that Disneyland is decorated a lot better and has more stuff going on than California Adventure, but overall both parks are great.

Mickey and Minnie had on costumes and where in Town Square to take pictures, but unfortunately for Ron and I, we got there as they where starting to leave. They turned the Haunted Mansion into The Nightmare Before Christmas...So cool. We spent the entire day there and still didn't get a chance to see everything that was going on.

I like to think I am a young person, but yesterday I realized that I am starting to get old. We went to Six Flags - Magic Mountain for Freight Feast. I have been to Six Flags over Texas and Fiesta Texas and rode all the rides with no problem. Yesterday, after 2 roller coaster I had the worse headache you could imagine. Needless to say...We were done for the day. We walked around and checked out the ONLY 2 shows they had going and all the haunted things throughout the park. Overall, if you are a rollercoaster freak...This is the place for you. This park is nothing but big rollercoasters.

Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Celebration

Ron took me to Disneyland for their 50th Celebration, since it ends this week. We had a great time. A little disappointed in the activities for the day since a lot of the rides and shows we like where closed, and not to many characters out and about. I think it has to do with the fact The 50th Celebration ends this week and Disney's new Halloween Celebrations begins. I am excited about that since I love Halloween...Already made the hotel reservations!!

As we walked through California Adventures asking each other, now what do you want to do....All of a sudden, it was Mater and Lighting McQueen!! It was so cool to see them - life size!! I had totally forgotten that Cars was a Disney movie. After the exciting day at the park, we headed out to Downtown Disney to catch a movie!

Star For A Day - Hollywood!

Kelly in front of Holllywood Blvd & Roosevelt Hotel (Where Marilyn Manroe passed away)

Ron and I ventured into Hollywood this past weekend. It was everything I pictured it would be. We took in a movie at Mann's Theater . Went into Disney's Soda and Fountain shop...We didn't have anything since we ate at Sprinkles, but next time we will. We saw Laura Croft, Supergirl and Wonderwomen taking a break from saving the world. Oh yea, we also walked around the street and checked out the stars on the sidewalk. To end a great a day, we ate at Hooters!! Overall, it was a cool place to visit. We will go back since Disney has a movie theater there, El Captain. Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D...I am so there!!
